Zuhrah ('Venus')

Zuhrah atau 'Kejora' (atau 'Venus') ialah planet kedua terdekat kepada Matahari, mengorbitnya pada setiap 224.7 hari bumi.

('Venus or 'Bolton' (or 'Venus') is the second closest planet to the Sun, orbit the Earth every 224.7 days.')

Nama Zuhrah ini diambil daripada bahasa Arab bermaksud bunga kerana bentuknya pada waktu pagi atau pada waktu senja seakan-akan bunga, tetapi jika dirujuk pada nama bahasa Inggeris, planet ini dinamakan bersempena Venus, dewa cinta Rom.

('Venus name is taken from the Arabic means flower because its shape in the morning or at dusk like a flower, but if referred to in the name of the English language, the planet is named after Venus, the Roman god of love.')

Ia merupakan objek semula jadi yang paling terang di waktu malam, kecuali Bulan, mencapai magnitud kecerahan −4.6.
('It is the most natural objects bright at night, except for the Moon, reaching magnitude -4.6 brightness.')

Oleh kerana Zuhrah merupakan planet inferior dari Bumi, ia tidak pernah muncul jauh daripada Matahari.
('Because Venus is an inferior planet from Earth, it never appear far from the Sun.')

Kelonjongannya mencapai maksimum sebanyak 47.8°. Zuhrah mencapai kecerahan maksimum sebelum matahari naik atau pun terbenam, disebabkan alasan tersebut ia selalunya disebut sebagai Bintang Pagi atau pun Bintang Petang.

('The whole rounded it reached a maximum of 47.8 °. Venus reaches maximum brightness before sunrise or sunset, because of these reasons it is often referred to as the Morning Star or Evening Star.')

Ciri-ciri Fizikal Zuhrah ('Physical characteristics of Venus')

Zuhrah dianggap sebagai planet kembar Bumi kerana saiz, jisim, isipadu dan ketumpatannya yang hampir sama dengan bumi.

('Venus is considered Earth's twin planet because of the size, mass, volume and density similar to Earth.')

Malahan, planet Bumi dan Zuhrah terbentuk daripada awan nebula yang sama.

Walau bagaimanapun, kedua dua planet ini mempunyai sifat yang berbeza.

Zuhrah tidak mempunyai lautan, dan diselubungi dengan atmosfera yang mengandungi karbon dioksida pada peratusan yang tinggi.

Cahaya matahari akan memanaskan permukaan planet tersebut, namun disebabkan atmosferanya tumpat, tenaga haba tidak dapat dipancarkan semula ke angkasa lepas.

Akibatnya suhu permukaan Zuhrah mencapai 480 C dan lebih panas daripada suhu permukaan Utarid.

Satu hari di Zuhrah adalah lebih panjang daripada satu tahun. Zuhrah melengkapkan putaran di paksinya dalam masa 245 hari Bumi, dan mengelilingi orbitnya dalam masa 225 hari Bumi.

('A day on Venus is longer than one year. Venus completes one rotation on its axis in 245 Earth days, and its orbit around the Earth within 225 days.')

Zuhrah juga berputar daripada timur ke barat, berbeza dengan bumi, iaitu dari barat ke timur. Ini bermakna di Zuhrah, matahari akan terbit daripada barat.

('Venus also rotates from east to west, in contrast to the earth, from west to east. This means that on Venus, the sun will rise from the west.')

Terdapat juga lingkaran asteroid yang kebanyakannya mengelilingi matahari di antara orbit planet Marikh dan Musytari.

Disebabkan oleh putaran, garis pusat pada garis khatulistiwa adalah terpanjang bagi setiapplanet dan bintang.

Saiz dan usia Zuhrah sama seperti Bumi tetapi iklimnya jauh lebih mencabar, dengan suhu sekitar 460 darjah Celsius dan begitu banyak karbon dioksida iaitu gas rumah hijau utama di Bumi.
